Ms. Michelle Fawl
Grade 1 Teacher

Michelle graduated from Mary Immaculate College, Limerick in 2008 with a Second Class Honours in a Bachelor of Education degree. She completed her probationary year in Lakyle National School and was awarded a Diploma of the Department of Education and Skills in 2009. Michelle has taught in a number of primary schools in County Clare over the years and has taught all age groups. She secured a permanent position in Kilkishen National School in 2012 and has been a mainstream classroom teacher in this school since then. In November of last year Michelle interviewed for the position of Assistant Principal II. She was the successful candidate and then became responsible for a range of administrative, pastoral and curriculum based duties. Michelle is a firm believer in life-long learning. She has an immense interest in the curricular areas and extra-curricular activities, in particular reading, sport and set-dancing. On a personal level Michelle feels strongly about caring for the environment and conserving our natural resources. Therefore when Ishe started in Kilkishen N.S. Michelle set up a Green Schools Committee and have been the Green Schools coordinator ever since. The school now has three Green Flags. Last year Michelle entered the school into the One Good Idea Project. The school was selected to take part and consequently, Michelle formed the Water Squad from members of the committee. The school went on to reach the National Finals in Croke Park which she attended last May. Over 500 schools entered the competition and so it brought great pride to her and the school to be chosen in the top 5 Primary Schools in Ireland. Michelle is very excited about joining the Al Yasat team and embarking on a new adventure and challenge.
